Background Information

Mrs Harris is a fully registered Hearing Aid Audiologist, having obtained her qualification in 2007 through the Hearing Aid Council. Throughout her career, she has predominantly worked in the private audiology sector. Mrs Harris' professional journey includes stints at Hidden Hearing, Specsavers as a Hearcare Director, Boots Hearingcare, and presently, Hearbase Hearing Specialists.

As an independent Hearing Aid company serving Kent, Mrs Harris finds immense satisfaction in this environment, akin to being part of a large, supportive family. The role is notably more diverse and captivating compared to Mrs Harris' past audiology roles, as it affords Mrs Harris the opportunity to engage in various aspects of the operation.

Since joining the team in January 2022 at the Spencer Private Hospital in Margate, Mrs Harris' involvement has spanned across the NHS sector, encompassing diagnostic audiology for the ENT department, and naturally, private audiology services. Embracing this spectrum of responsibilities has been incredibly fulfilling.

Earlier this year, Hearbase's commitment to enhancing patient care led us to establish a presence in Broadstairs, adjacent to the Spencer Private Hospital in Margate. This extension ensures that our patients receive consistently excellent aftercare without prolonged waiting times. Mrs Harris now oversees this branch, managing operations alongside Mrs Harris' dedicated receptionist.

While the work can pose challenges, the rewards are truly exceptional. The privilege of restoring a patient's quality of life through improved hearing is a source of profound satisfaction. It's a journey Mrs Harris is honoured to undertake, fostering better hearing and enriched lives along the way.

Hearing Aids are constantly changing. The introduction of rechargeable Hearing Aids to eliminate the need to change batteries was immense and made Hearing Aids much easier for elderly patients to deal with. The latest innovation is the incorporation of Bluetooth into the hearing instruments. This is to enable the Hearing Aids to work as headphones for streaming of sound from mobiles phones and television.

Mrs Harris was born in Bristol and raised in the picturesque coastal town of Portishead. After completing her school years, she achieved 9 O’ Levels and 2 A’ Levels. Instead of immediately pursuing university, Mrs Harris was eager to step into the professional world and begin earning.

Mrs Harris' career journey commenced in the banking sector, eventually leading her to qualify as an Audiologist in 2007. This path followed a diverse trajectory, encompassing roles in the travel industry, beauty sector, and even selling hardwood timber. Throughout these positions, Mrs Harris consistently found enjoyment in collaborative work and engaging with people.

In 2007, Mrs Harris tied the knot, and while her husband and her don't have children, they are blessed with two wonderful step-grandchildren. Mrs Harris' life took her to Kent in 2008, initially in Faversham and then Canterbury. Since 2013, Mrs Harris has been delightedly residing in the sunny coastal town of Broadstairs, Kent.

Hearbase has been providing quality ear care for 25+ years. We offer exceptional and reliable aftercare to all of our patients for the life of their hearing instruments. We use the latest technology to help you make the best of your hearing.
