Mr Paolo Consigliere is a fellowship trained Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special focus on disorders of the shoulder and elbow. He is well-versed in advanced keyhole techniques and open joint replacement surgery, as well as trauma.

Mr Consigliere is deeply committed to providing comprehensive care to patients suffering from various shoulder and elbow conditions, including sport injuries, rotator cuff tears, shoulder impingement syndrome, frozen shoulder, calcific tendinitis, shoulder and elbow instability and dislocation, degenerative and inflammatory arthritis, tennis and golfer's elbow, as well as upper limb fractures.

Background Information

Mr Consigliere completed his medical degree at the University of Pavia, Italy in 2009 and trained in Trauma and Orthopaedics in Milan, Italy.

He moved to the UK in 2013 and soon after relocating, he completed two upper limb fellowships: one at the prestigious Rowley Bristow Unit, Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Chertsey UK and one at the Reading Shoulder Unit, Royal Berkshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Reading UK, International Centre of Excellence.

He then expanded his knowledge and increased his surgical experience completing a complex trauma and limb reconstruction fellowship at St George's University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, one of the four major trauma centres in London.

Mr Consigliere was appointed as a Consultant in 2019 and now works at the East Kent Hospitals University NHS FT, Kent UK.

Mr Consigliere holds a position as a Lecturer at the Kent and Medway Medical School and serves as the Director of Clinical Research at the Reading Shoulder Unit, as well as being the Research Lead for the William Harvey Hospital, East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.

With a remarkable track record of more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals, Mr Consigliere has made significant contributions to the fields of upper limb and trauma surgery. He has also co-authored several book chapters, further solidifying his reputation as a leading expert in his area of specialisation.

His dedication to teaching and sharing knowledge extends to his role as a faculty member in advanced training courses for shoulder and elbow replacement surgery and arthroscopic surgery.
